This informal gathering is open to one and all. Bring a dish to pass, drink of choice and a chair for enjoying the music. We can make the event ‘zero waste’ by bringing our own plates and silverware, though paper plates will be provided.
The event is free, sponsored in part by the Vermillion Cultural Association, University of South Dakota Department of Sustainability and Environment, and the South Dakota Arts Council.
Music begins at 6 p.m. with HOYEYA, a Lakota Drum Group led by USD student Tanner Drappeau from Ihankthunwan Nation (Yankton Sioux Tribe). Hoyeya means "send a voice" in the Lakota language.
Immediately following the drum group will be Americana/Bluegrass band East of Westreville from Sioux Falls. This four-piece acoustic band harmonizes and creates mesmerizing melodies.
