MISSION
The Vermillion Cultural Association serves and supports community arts & culture through programs and partnerships.
VISION
Arts are a connective force for community and driver of commerce. Our vision is a Vermillion that thrives on a strong arts scene that enriches, entertains, and empowers residents and visitors. Let’s keep up the good arts!
GOALS
SERVE
As the operator of Vermillion’s local cinema and premier rotating art space, VCA is uniquely positioned to host & promote events that entertain & enrich our community.
SUPPORT
VCA celebrates & supports ongoing arts efforts in Vermillion by uplifting the work of local artists, collaborating with partner organizations, and using our nonprofit status to secure arts-focused grant projects that improve quality of life in the community.
We created the artsHUB as a digital resource for inclusion & collaboration among artists and organizations. The artsHUB offers an arts calendar, arts & culture directory, and a discussion space for connection.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Proudly participated in the campaign to help Vermillion seize the title of Best Small Town Arts Scene 2025 in the USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards 10Best poll.
Folded the Vermillion SculptureWalk under our programming umbrella in 2023. VCA now serves as the stewards of the six artworks in downtown, in conjunction with SculptureWalk Sioux Falls.
Renovated the Coyote Twin concessions area in 2022 (including a new popcorn machine!)—the first time in 40+ years the space had been fully refreshed.
Administered a $75,000 CDC Foundation grant for The Barn Quilt Project, which has received national recognition as part of the Trusted Messengers exhibition in the CDC Museum in Atlanta, Georgia.
