An Evening with White Spruce Chamber Players

The White Spruce Chamber Players, a music ensemble sponsored by the Sioux Falls Arts Council, aim to provide approachable, high-quality chamber music, explore underperformed repertoire, collaborate with other local artists through combined projects, and provide outreach to local schools by showcasing the musical qualities of each instrument. Named after the State Tree of South Dakota, the White Spruce Chamber Players came together out of cellist Laura Cooper’s master’s degree recital, which required a chamber music piece on the program. Rehearsals of a few movements of Schubert’s “Trout” Quintet were so rewarding and the fellowship following rehearsals was so enjoyable that the five musicians involved enthusiastically agreed to continue their music-making as an ongoing collaboration.

NOTE: This performance will be held in the beautiful Sanctuary of the United Church of Christ (Congregational) at 210 W. 5th Street. You can use either the front doors or you can use the elevator entrance. A free-will offering is requested to help offset costs, but only give what is comfortable. ANY PROFITS WILL GO TO BENEFIT THE YANKTON AREA BANQUET AND THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST (CONGREGATIONAL) BUILDING FUND.
